We are looking for the following in the areas of civil litigation and dispute resolution to work with Courtwingman and our associate law firm, South Bank Legal:

1. English-speaking paralegals and junior lawyers based in Warsaw, Poland. Civil Litigation

  • A Part-time position of approximately 20 hours a week. You need not have experienced English law, but should have a good level of spoken English and have an interest in, and want to learn, English law. There will be occasional visits to London.
  • The office environment is very friendly and vibrant. We share an office at Zelazna 67 with a Polish law firm. Drop by for coffee!

The duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • litigation assistant. We run cases in the UK courts and you would support the two solicitors here with their court work, such as creating bundles for hearings and trials and producing costs schedules;
  • liaising with clients – you would take calls and emails from new and existing clients;
  • training and education in the law of England & Wales and in civil law and procedure;
  • administrative and secretarial support;
  • after training is complete you would give basic legal advice to members of the public in the UK through our Courtwingman advice service;
  • Assistance with basic marketing and accounts work, including transcribing video content on our YouTube channel;
  • Occasional visits to courts and clients in the UK.

2. A Polish solicitor to join our team in Poland.

  • Full-time position. Use your qualification as a UK lawyer to return to Poland and continue to practice as before!
  • Salary: Negotiable.
  • The area of law is general civil litigation. You would be working with Alex Woods and Daria Siatkowska. Daria moved back to Poland after 13 years qualifying as a solicitor and then working for a law firm in Nottingham. This position would suit someone who wishes to make a permanent move back to their home country.
  • Please email for more details of this position, including pay.

Paralegals with Personal Injury experience welcomed.

Above all we are looking for a conscientious lawyer or trainee lawyer who has an eye for detail and whose work is accurate. You need to be able to prioritise and work to court deadlines and be flexible. As a small business loyalty and commitment are important to us and are rewarded in terms of pay. As a UK law business we are able to pay at a reasonable level, slightly higher than the equivalence of a Polish-qualified lawyer of the same experience. If you are not very experienced, but are nevertheless determined and willing to learn do please apply: we can always provide training if there are gaps in your experience, if you are committed to the position in the long-term. The owner of the business also works part-time as an English-teacher in Warsaw to Polish lawyers.

Civil litigation is an exciting area of practice and the rewards in terms of pay can be generous, but it can at times be demanding – successful applicants would need to be able to deal with the pressure of deadlines and manage clients who find themselves in serious, sometimes high-value disputes in the courts!  We deal mostly with individual clients and small businesses – we are not a corporate law firm. The work is varied, from small contract claims to complex will disputes, property disputes and personal injury. The position would afford you an excellent insight into the court system of England & Wales and a very wide-range of contentious civil work.
